Apopka Youth Works invites local businesses to participate in the prgoram. This is much more than providing summer jobs - it is an opportunity to guide high school juniors and seniors into their first job and a chance to earn their own income.
Business owners provide valuable work experience and mentorship - a rewarding opportunity to help young people who need it most. Apopka Youth Works also aims to utilize this opportunity with businesses to spark an interest for students' long-term career goals. In past years, some business partners extended permanent employment and even scholarshipa to help students continue working and learning.
Past business participants include Andrade and Vellon Law Firm, Apopka Family Learning Center, Bam B Enterprises/McDonalds, Chance Ad, the City of Apopka, Coca-Cola, Community Trust Credit Union, Florida Door Solutions, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida, Great Florida Insurance of Apopka, Hope Community Center, LAN on Demand, Optical Eyeland, Pentair Aquatic Eco-systems and others.
